RavWare has been creating mobile applications for Fortune 500 and smaller corporations for many years. We started developing applications with the Palm platform including the Sony Clie’ line of devices. As times changed we created applications for the PocketPC and Symbian platforms supporting Nokia phones. The current line up of iPhone , Android, and Blackberry smart phones and internet enabled devices are what we dreamed of working on for the last decade.
We love them all.
Each platform and device has a unique and interesting profile and feature set that makes creating fast, clean, and simple applications a fun and rewarding experience. This is one of the most interesting times to be in software research and development for the mobile application market.
RavWare’s speciality is on the implementation of unique and interesting mobile applications to be both fast and equipped for change. We can either work with your design team or provide introductions to spectacular designers, and artists to help inspire your application to be visually as beautiful on the outside as our code will be on the inside. We have been blessed to work with some of the most creative designers in the world and have together created several dozen applications for the consumer market. However most of our work has been creating mobile applications for enterprise environments to increase productivity, reduce costs, or enhance marketing efforts . The applications have ranged from games, simulations, and social networking applications to complex scientific modeling, advanced image processing and integration with external hardware.
We value a customer’s privacy and will never disclose a client’s project , name , or anything else that you would like kept private. Most of our customers have been with us and choose to use our services for over 15 years in desktop and mobile development because of our ability to keep our mouth’s shut and implement their idea to a high standard. If we don’t know something we will tell you, and do our best to find a solution.
We have developed applications for ad agencies , defense contractors, pharmaceutical, legal, social engineering and medical companies.
On the newest Apple mobile platform, iOS, formerly iPhone OS, we have developed iPhone , iTouch , and iPad specific applications only using native tools and mostly Objective-C. On occasion , to enhance the speed of an application we have used a mixture of C/C++ and ARM assembly combined with either Objective-C or Objective-C++ but only when performance was critical and we exhausted all other possibilities of optimization and profiling including algorithm review. XCode is wonderful development environment that we enjoy using and have been using on both the desktop and iOS platform for many years. We have developed applications that took advantage of the specific features of the iPad and iPhone with completely different versions for the iTouch. We are experienced using the iOS Enterprise license as well as developing applications for others to release on the iTunes App Store. Remaining engaged in the iOS community and development conferences such as WWDC to enhance our knowledge has been a wonderful experience through the incredibly fast evolution of the platform.
Similarly we use the native tools for Android using the Eclipse IDE and combined with using both the Java based SDK and the C/C++ NDK when required. Many of our applications for the Android have been written from the ground up to take advantage of the unique features of the Android OS in conjunction with an iPhone and Blackberry build.
We can help you develop truly unique applications that can stand alone on the OS or to compliment a iOS or Blackberry application. The Android OS is evolving at a fast pace and is interesting because of how many alternative devices the OS can run on. It is amazing to design, develop, and experiment with Android running on embedded devices, appliances , beagle boards , and devices that have not been released yet.
The Blackberry RIM platform has a massive customer base in many businesses and enterprises. We prefer the Eclipse IDE using Java on this platform and have created medical and corporate tools to help track inventories and perform marketing tasks. This platform has some amazing changes coming in the next version of the OS that will add many competitive features while still creating a familiar interface. We have developed applications from the 8300 series to the touch screen Storm II up to the newest devices. The wide difference in inputs requires extra testing and development.
We are excited to check out the new Windows Mobile offerings as we have developed games for the Zune and have extensive experience in developing for the older Microsoft mobile platforms going back to the Pocket PC OS.
There are some great mobile devices that we are waiting for with great anticipation. There are embedded devices like watches and smart clothing that have been enabled to communicate with the environment around them. The costs to obtain , test and work with these devices have come down drastically. Also there are a lot of other devices that don’t fit nicely fit into the smartphone market that provide limited mobility that we have enjoyed experimenting with.
We have also developed applications using Carbide for S60 and other phones.
